transfer of domainnames

Why does it take so long? And why are registrars making it more complicated then it should be?
Bought a domain through an online auction on Sedo one month ago. Just successfully transferred it to my account today, after five (!!) unsuccessful attempts. Sedo rep was helpful (Mira thanks!) but every action took several days.

Now it’s time for action! Creating the website, will put up the link here shortly.
